Northern Kentucky University breakfast events assist nonprofits - Business Courier of Cincinnati:

Institute Director John Vissman saidthe group’ws Breakthrough Breakfast events were created late last year to fill a void in the region’w nonprofit community, which these days is struggliny under the pressure of increaseds demand for services and shrinking resources. Vissman said the forumz are an extension ofthe institute’s work. It helps connect service learning classes to nonprofits toprovidde services, most of which are free. “Wre can help the nonprofits do theidrwork faster, more efficiently, more effectively and hopefully with fewe resources,” he said. Aaron Wolfe-Bertling said he’e found the breakfasts to be very helpful.
Wolfe-Bertling, the executivee director of the , estimated that he’sx attended a half-dozen of the “You always learn from each other. And if it’a a good idea, you like to steall it,” he said. In addition to the networking, Wolfe-Bertlinbg said he likes the fact that some breakfast topics focusaon hands-on skills, such as parliamentary while others give broader information on topics such as demographicsx or regional planning efforts. The next Breakthrough Breakfasty on June 4 will focus on the work ofAgendz 360, the regional planning effort. A session in Augusf features a presentation on social mediaand nonprofits.
