Investment group plans $50M project - Charlotte Business Journal:

The Mooresville-based investment company says the $50 million projecf will create 150 jobs innorth Charlotte. According to a rezoning application filed with the city of the project calls for indoor andoutdoore retail, a 150-room hotel, offices, conference space and indoor and outdoor karting and racing. Charlotte City Council will vote June 15 on theproposec rezoning. If the applicatiobn is approved, the site will be called “Metrolinza Speed and Sport Center.” The first phass of the project is slated for completionhin April.

The site is on Old Statesvill e Road in theDerita community.
Speedway Investment Grou was founded in 2008 for the specificf purpose of redeveloping the Metrolina site and creating an amateursportd destination.
