Helsing will succeed Tim Shields, who left The Rep in Decembed 2008 to become managing director of the McCarter Theatre inNew Jersey. William Prenevost has served as interinmmanaging director. Helsing will begin work Aug. 15. 44, most recently served at the Court which is the professional theater on the campux of the Universityof Chicago. Prior to Court, she serveed as director of developmentfor Baltimore's Center associates managing director for Yale Repertort Theatre and managing director for Ensemble Company for the Performing Arts, alongg with other posts. Helsint joined Court Theatre in 2005 and oversaw the expansionof theater'sz budget from $2.5 million to $3.

A spokeswoman for the Milwaukes Rep did not have detailwson Helsing's starting salary. Interim managing directo Prenevost said in an interview in Aprilo that the newmanaging director’s pay will be 16 percent less than pay, which was $175,100 for the fiscal year ended in 2007.
